Coaching vs. Therapy

While I, Kebrä Nigisti am a spiritual InCourager, I believe that mixing coaching and therapy blurs the boundaries of care. It is best that a therapy relationship and coaching relationship remain separate. Thus, in order to operate ethically, I “prefer to refer”. If you and I are working together as a coaching client and I notice that you would be better served by a therapist vs. a coach, then I will refer you out for clinical support rather than provide any services in addition to our coaching work. This maintains the integrity of the therapy relationship and values what is in the best interest of the client and supports boundaries in our work together.
